Wiltshire Council have partnered with the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) to deliver the government-backed Help to Grow: Management course for local businesses, with sign up now open for the next Wiltshire-based course starting in February.

The 12 week programme is helping to open the door to growth for Wiltshire business leaders. Businesses can benefit from a practical management training programme, developed in collaboration with the industry and delivered by world-class business schools, accredited by the Small Business Charter.

The programme includes 50 hours of in-depth training, one-to-one business mentoring and the opportunity for senior managers of small and medium-sized enterprises to grow their business, fast. The course is designed to be taken alongside full-time work through a combination of online sessions and face-to-face learning, with 90% of the fees subsidised by the Government and a cost of just £750 for the business.

The next Wiltshire-based course is starting on 15 February 2022 in Trowbridge, although business leaders from outside of Wiltshire can also participate, providing they can attend four half-day face-to-face sessions in Trowbridge as part of the course.

Cllr Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: It was great to see a good level of interest and sign ups from business leaders to our first Wiltshire-based course that started this month, and would encourage more to take up this opportunity for the next course starting in February.

If businesses are wondering how they can increase productivity and grow their revenue to take their business to the next level, they would really benefit from the support offered by the management programme, as they will come out with a tailored business growth plan at the end of the 12 weeks. We look forward to supporting more local businesses to take their next steps in growth, and helping to expand their business.

Dr. Dan Knox, Programme Director of Help to Grow Management at UWE Bristol, said: Help to Grow management is having a significant impact across the UK and in our region. At UWE Bristol, we have already seen more than 100 SMEs join the programme and start to plan their transformation with our expert support. We look forward to supporting them further as their journeys continue.
