While services change over Christmas in many areas people will still be able to call for support and advice if they are the victim of domestic abuse or they believe someone they know is a victim.

The Splitz Support Service is available on 01225 775 276 during usual office hours and the Wiltshire out of hours domestic abuse helpline will be available on 01225 712 880 out of hours and over the Christmas and New Year period. Trained advisers will be able to provide support and advice.

Cllr Ashley O'Neill, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Public Health said: For most of us Christmas is a time of celebration and fun but there will be people who dread this time of year and are dealing with issues difficult for many of us to imagine. We want those people to know there is someone ready to take their call and help them make changes. Whatever time of the day or whatever time of year it is they do not have to suffer alone. We are always on the end of the line to pick up their call.

People can speak to Splitz Support Service on 01225 775276 from 9am to 5pm on working days. On Christmas Eve Splitz will close at 2pm and then re-open from 29 - 30 December from 9am to 5pm. It will be open on New Years Eve from 9am to 3:30pm and then Splitz will be closed from 1 - 3 January 2022. Normal working hours resume on 4 January. For out of hours and other times during the Christmas break people can call the Wiltshire out of hours domestic abuse helpline on 01225 712 880. In an emergency people should dial 999.
