Local residents in Trowbridge are invited to share their thoughts on a new framework for investment in the town centre, shaping its future over the next five to 10 years.

The £16 million Future High Streets Fund investment in Trowbridge has already seen transformative projects that are rejuvenating the heart of the town. With these schemes nearing completion and work beginning on the new Trowbridge Leisure Centre this year, it's the perfect time to consider the next steps in the town's regeneration.

To test various opportunities and to gather ideas from the community, we are hosting a series of engagement events next week:

  • Thursday, 30 January 2025, 11am to 1pm:
    • Drop-in session at The Shires Shopping Centre, Court Street, Trowbridge
  • Thursday, 30 January 2025, 2pm to 5pm:
    • Public engagement session at County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge

At these events, attendees can review initial ideas, share their thoughts, and help shape proposals that reflect the priorities of the community.

Also on Thursday, 30 January 2025:

  • Later in the evening, join us for Trowbridge Lates at Still Sisters Distillery, Unit 11 St George's Works in Trowbridge, from 6 to 7pm

This will be an open listening session on topics around the evening / night-time economy and cultural offer in Trowbridge.

Separate activities will be targeted at young people to get a deeper understanding of the views of the next generation and ensure their voices are heard in this process.

Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: "Over the last year, we've worked closely with our partners to explore investment opportunities that could shape Trowbridge's future over the next decade. Now, we're eager to hear directly from the community to ensure these plans align with local needs and aspirations.

"Trowbridge town centre faces both challenges and opportunities in the years ahead, and it's vital we develop an investment framework that delivers meaningful and impactful projects. I encourage everyone to attend these sessions and contribute to shaping Trowbridge's future."

The feedback collected from these events will inform the development of the Trowbridge Investment Framework, which will guide future development and initiatives in the town centre. It will also be used to attract central government and other external funding sources.
