It is the last chance for key stakeholders to provide feedback on the draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment for Wiltshire before the consultation period ends on 13 June 2022.

The updated pharmaceutical needs assessment report was last published in 2018, and is a key tool in identifying what is needed at a local level. It can also highlight any gaps in provision to support the commissioning for pharmaceutical services until 2025.

The consultation has given key stakeholders, including neighbouring county Health & Wellbeing Boards, Wiltshire NHS providers, community pharmacies and GP surgeries a chance to provide comments on the draft assessment report.

Cllr Richard Clewer, Chairman of the Wiltshire Health and Wellbeing Board, said: I would like to thank those who have already taken the time to comment on this consultation.

Having an efficient pharmaceutical service which meets the needs of our local communities is a key priority for us as a Health and Wellbeing Board. We would encourage those who have yet to respond to look at the draft PNA and take part in the consultation and help shape the service moving forward.

Once the engagement period is complete, the responses will be analysed, and any changes required to the PNA will be considered. Final sign-off on the draft document is expected by Autumn this year by the Health and Wellbeing Board.

Although the consultation is primarily for key stakeholders to respond to, residents can still participate should they wish to. To read the draft document and take part in the survey, people should visit www.wiltshire.gov.uk/public-health/pharmaceutical-needs-assessment-2022.
