Letter of thanks to Wiltshire carers

We wanted to get in touch to say thank you for everything you are doing in your important role as a carer during these difficult times.

Published 23 April 2020

We know that as an unpaid carer you are providing care and support day in day out to family or friends, many of whom are at most risk from COVID-19. We know you carry out this demanding and difficult work selflessly to make the person you are caring for as comfortable as possible and to make their lives easier. Some of you were already caring for and supporting some of our most vulnerable residents, some of you may have recently become carers as families, friends and neighbours adjust and adapt to the current situation.

We know you do this work without expectation of publicity and you do it because you are thinking of others and doing what is best for them.

So in this letter we wanted to take the opportunity to focus on you and recognise your extraordinary dedication. Please know we recognise and are deeply grateful for all you do and will continue to do. You truly are our unsung heroes.

Yours sincerely,

Alistair Cunningham, Chief Executive Officer; Terence Herbert, Chief Executive Officer; Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council; Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Public Health
