Published 14 September 2022

HM Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Mrs Sarah Rose Troughton, said:

"As His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, I would like to send my deep gratitude to everyone across Wiltshire and Swindon who has sent in tributes and messages of condolence following the sad death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. They are all very much appreciated and demonstrate the huge impact Her Majesty had on so many people across all walks of life in the county.

"This is a  difficult and emotional moment for the country as we look ahead to the lying-in-state, and then the funeral and committal of such an inspirational and beloved monarch. However, I also feel a deep sense of optimism for our future under His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort. His Majesty has been so warmly embraced in the four corners of our nation and this has been wonderful to witness. He can be assured of Wiltshire's loyalty and support. God Save the King.

"Thank you once again."
