Melksham Community Campus tennis courts to reopen for public use

The tennis courts at Melksham Community Campus will be available for public use, from Monday 16 September, providing a quality sporting facility for the local community and the opportunity to enjoy tennis all year round.

Located behind the main campus building, the two high-quality hard court tennis courts are both equipped with floodlights, meaning that tennis enthusiasts can enjoy extended playing hours, regardless of the season.

Melksham Tennis Club will retain access to the courts for specific hours during both the winter and summer months. The courts will be available for public booking, at a cost of £5.80 per session, Monday to Sunday between the hours of 8am to 10pm subject to other bookings.

To facilitate public access, Wiltshire Council has partnered with the Lawn Tennis Association's (LTA) court booking partner, ClubSpark. The booking system for the courts is now live on the ClubSpark website and people can book a court easily by creating an account on the booking site. Access to the courts is then managed via a digital code, which will be sent to bookers by email prior to their scheduled court time.

Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Operational Assets, said, One of our key Business Plan priorities is to enhance our community facilities and promote active and healthy lifestyle, as such we are delighted that we have been able to come up with an arrangement which means the courts are available for local residents to use.

The courts are not only high-quality, but with the floodlights people will be able to make use of the facility later into the evening and all year round. I encourage everyone to get booking their courts and I look forward to meeting Wiltshire's next Andy Murray, Emma Raducanu or Jack Draper!
