Wiltshire Council is encouraging people to find out more about mental health and wellbeing support including making connections in their own local communities with a special event this May.

Communities across the UK will come together to mark Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 from 12 May, with this year's theme shining a spotlight on the power of community in promoting and supporting positive mental wellbeing.

Wiltshire Council is organising a Mental Health and Wellbeing Community Drop-in Day at the Guildhall in Salisbury on Tuesday, 13 May from 10am to 2pm.

Local organisations and service providers will gather to offer free advice, support, and community connection. Twenty different stalls will be available on the day providing activities but also a listening ear and advice on next steps to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Kate Blackburn, Director Public Health at Wiltshire Council said: Strong communities are the foundation of good mental health and wellbeing. When people feel supported and connected, they're better able to manage life's challenges. This event is all about helping individuals discover the people, groups, and services that can make a real difference in their lives. Whether you're looking for practical help, emotional support, or simply want to connect with others in a welcoming space, we encourage you to come along. No one should feel alone - especially when there is so much support available right here in our community.

The event is open to all and will include free refreshments, engaging activities, and access to a wide range of information on a range of mental health and wellbeing services, council support, and local community groups.
