Open afternoon and careers fair for opportunities to work with people with learning disabilities
A respite centre will be opening its doors and offering people a look inside and a chance to consider a career working with adults with learning disabilities in September.
Bradbury House in Salisbury is one of Wiltshire Council's respite services for adults that provide short breaks away from the family home.
On Thursday 12 September from 11am to 2pm people interested in working with adults with learning disabilities will be able to look around, meet residents and staff and find out what It's like to work there and the opportunities available.

Wiltshire Council has a number of respite centres including Meadow Lodge in Chippenham, Bourne House in Salisbury, and day opportunity services at The Medley Trowbridge and The Meadows Salisbury where staff vacancies are available.
Tara a team leader at Bradbury House explained how staff plan great activities for adults attending the service and how they support each other as a team. "These are not only fun but help develop life skills and aid independence. "
Cllr Jane Davies, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care said: Our families value the time their loved ones spend at Bradbury House as it means they are well cared for and enjoy a different venue, activities and meet the friendly staff and other people.
We are fortunate to have staff who provide a fun, safe environment. These staff make such a difference and find the whole experience incredibly rewarding. We always need more people to join us and this open afternoon is an opportunity for anyone who would like to work with people with learning disabilities to drop in, chat to the staff and find out more about what it means to work in this important and very rewarding area.
