A member of our leisure team is donning his trainers and taking on a mammoth 100-mile run in aid of Sport Relief.

Published 4 March 2020

Matt Sinclair, a Fitness Specialist Manager at Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre, will be running between all 10 of Wiltshire Council's leisure centres across the five days of Sport Relief week (9-13 March).

Matt's plan is as follows:

• Day one Tisbury to Devizes 29 miles
• Day two Devizes to Corsham to Calne 25 miles
• Day three Calne to Marlborough 14 miles
• Day four Marlborough to Pewsey to Tidworth 17 miles
• Day five Tidworth to Durrington to Amesbury to Salisbury 20 miles

Matt said: I'm doing the self-set challenge in support of Sport Relief to help raise the awareness of the fantastic work that the charity carries out and to promote the benefits of exercise, while showcasing our fantastic leisure facilities within the county.

People can donate to Matt's cause by visiting his Just Giving (opens new window) page.

If anyone is inspired by Matt's efforts, Wiltshire Council leisure centres will also be encouraging donations for the charity for people to do their own Sport Relief mile. People are challenged to run, swim, walk, cycle or row a mile between 9-13 March. Please contact your local leisure centrefor more information.

Sport Relief is a biennial charity event from Comic Relief, in association with BBC Sport, to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world's poorest countries
