Spotlight on registrars as team supports people at most important moments of their lives
It's National Registrars Day today, Tuesday 4 July, which provides a chance to shine the spotlight on the vital role registrars play at the most important moments of people's lives.
In 2022, Wiltshire Council's registered 2,159 births, 4,478 deaths and 2,171 ceremonies, which includes marriages, civil partnerships, and citizenship ceremonies.
Cllr Ashley O'Neill, Cabinet Member for Staffing, said: Day in and day out our registrars and registration service are there for people, helping to support them through the major moments in their lives and recording life's journey. It takes a special kind of person to be a registrar, as they speak to people at both their happiest and saddest moments.
Our friendly, supportive and professional team are unsung heroes and it's nice to shine the spotlight on them as part of National Registrars Day to celebrate the crucial work they do.
If anyone needs our services or wants more information, I'd urge them to get in touch to see what help and support is available.
Sarah Bradley, Deputy Head of Wiltshire Registration Service and Superintendent Registrar, said: I am so proud to be the Superintendent Registrar of a service that places the customer firmly at the heart of everything we do and want to take this opportunity to thank all of the Registration Staff for their hard work and dedication to our customers at the most important moments in their lives.
To help us celebrate we ask any of our customers who have appointments with us this week to have a picture taken with your registrar.
