Wiltshire Council has confirmed that construction on the new leisure centre in Trowbridge will commence on 7 April.

As recently confirmed, Pellikaan Construction will lead the build of the new leisure centre in the county town, which will be built on Wiltshire Council's East Wing site. In developing the leisure centre Wiltshire Council has worked with Alliance Leisure, the delivery partner for the UK Leisure Framework (UKLF).

Site-set up will begin on 7 April. The car park on the left-hand side of the East Wing site (the 'Asda end'), which is often used by members of the public in the evenings and on weekends, will also not be available from 7 April.

Construction traffic will access the site via the main entrance just off the mini roundabout opposite County Hall and there should not be any disruption to the public while this first phase of the project gets underway. The council will provide further updates for the duration of the project.

Parvis Khansari, Wiltshire Council Corporate Director - Place, said: "Work on the new Trowbridge Leisure Centre will formally get underway in April and we'll make sure to provide regular updates as this project continues."
