In order to improve the overall customer experience, we are carrying out upgrade work to our payment system which means we won't be able to take any payments over the phone, in person, or via the website for a few hours from 6am on 11 August. We anticipate the work will be completed by 10am.

What does this mean for you?

During the upgrade work, which takes place on 11 August from 6am for a few hours, you won't be able to make manual payments over the phone, in person, or via the website for some types of services, included but not limited to:

  • Council tax
  • Leisure services (although chip and pin card machines will be working in leisure centres)
  • Business rates
  • Pay a parking ticket
  • Pay library charges
  • Pay housing rent
  • Housing benefit overpayment
  • Environmental FPNs payment
  • Garden waste collections

What will the outcome of the upgrade work be?

If you do pay for any council services online you should notice an improved experience. The payment pages will bring a different look and feel to online payments and the functionality will be upgraded to improve the customer experience and meet accessibility requirements. This is the start of ongoing improvements to how you pay for council-related services online.
