Wiltshire Council has confirmed Terence Herbert as Chief Executive Officer People, and Alistair Cunningham as Chief Executive Officer Place in a new senior leadership structure.

The council's cabinet approved the structure at its meeting on 19 November and this was followed by a period of formal consultation.

The new structure, which takes effect from Monday 13 January 2020, sees a reduction in the senior management team from three posts down to two, with current Executive Director, Dr Carlton Brand, leaving on Friday 10 January 2020.

Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: "I'd like to thank Carlton for his commitment, hard work and professionalism over the years. He has served the council with real distinction and leaves us with our very best wishes.

"The structure change ensures the Chief Executive Officers can provide strategic leadership and a detailed level of focus, energy, creativity and capacity into each of their respective areas, while working closely together ensuring the council is as joined up as possible.

"We have always been a forward thinking authority and we believe this way of working will ultimately benefit our residents and communities and ensure we have the right structure in place to continue to deliver quality services."
