Wiltshire residents are being asked to take part in the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction survey. Residents can share their views on a range of highways and transport services including the condition of roads and footpaths and the quality of cycling facilities.
Wiltshire Council is one of 96 local authorities to sign up to the standardised survey that will ask all recipients the same questions. The answers will then be compared with the rest of England and Scotland to identify areas of best practice and spot national, regional and local trends.
A questionnaire will be sent to a random sample of 3,300 residents starting from June, followed by a reminder, with local and national results to be published in late October.
Cllr Nick Holder, Cabinet Member for Highways, Street Scene and Flooding, said: We want to encourage all Wiltshire residents who receive this survey to take part. It's a great opportunity to share your views of these services in your local area.
Highways and transport services play a vital role in all of our communities, which is why feedback is so valuable.
A key priority in our Business Plan is to ensure that there are options for different modes of transport available to residents as well as maintaining and improving the existing transport infrastructure.
We have a commitment to understand the needs of all our communities and this survey will enable us to identify areas of improvement.
The survey is the largest collaboration between local authorities, offering them the opportunity to compare results, share in best practice and identify further opportunities to work together in the future.
The survey can be completed online if preferred with a short URL link printed on the front of the questionnaire.
The results will enable the National Highways and Transport Network to find out what people in Wiltshire think about these important services. This will provide an opportunity to see how the council is performing in this area. It also gives local residents an opportunity to say which services they think Wiltshire Council should prioritise and improve.
