Roadworks have started today (Tuesday 6 July) on Porton Road (C32), with weekday road closures between 9am and 3.30pm. The works are being phased in order to maintain access to the Solstice Business Park throughout the duration of the works and the phasing will be as follows:

Phase 1 - 6 - 9 July 2021

Access from north - resurfacing taking place from Boscombe Road roundabout north to the Mills Way/Sunrise Way roundabout.

Phase 2 - 12 -14 July

Access from south - resurfacing taking place from Mills Way/Sunrise Way roundabout north to the Solstice Park roundabout.

Phase 3 - 15 -19 July

Lining and Ironworks affecting all areas (no weekend working)

During phase 3 work will take place on both sections. Access to Solstice Business Park will be maintained but there may be short periods when those requiring access will be asked to use a diversion route and gain access from an alternate entrance.

In order to maintain access to the business parks there will be temporary traffic lights on the central roundabout which may cause a delay to access during busy periods.

Cllr Dr Mark McClelland, Cabinet Member for Transport said, "We have written to residents and businesses giving them details about the planned works and closures and suggesting that they talk to the workforce on the ground ahead of work taking place in the vicinity of their property to ask if there will be any restrictions with regards to access.

"We will also ensure that signing is in place to advise that local businesses will be open as usual.

"I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience these works will cause but trust you will appreciate the necessity for these essential works to maintain Wiltshire's highway network."
