Wiltshire Council leaders have today (Tuesday 29 June) agreed to move forward with the next stage of the Wiltshire Local Plan, after receiving a report on feedback from local communities and other stakeholders in the recent Local Plan Review consultation.

Wiltshire Council's Strategic Planning Committee has today (Tuesday 22 June) voted to approve the planning application from Land & Mineral Management, on behalf of Northacre Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), for a revised 'energy from waste' facility in Westbury.

The committee will meet at 10.30am on 22 June in the Council Chamber at County Hall, and to ensure more people have the chance to watch, it will be streamed live online on Facebook and YouTube.

There are now less than two weeks to take part in the Wiltshire Local Plan review consultation, and for people to have their say on where future developments may be built in the county in the next 15 years.

The last of Wiltshire Council's online engagement sessions to explain more about the ongoing Local Plan review consultation has ended, with 1,321 people joining the events.

People are urged to submit applications digitally through the Wiltshire Council website to avoid unnecessary delays.
