Long walks, chats over the phone, visits, newsletters and exchanging craft ideas are just some of the many ways the Wiltshire Council Inhouse Learning Disability Team has been keeping in contact with adults they care for during COVID-19.

Inspirational Shared Lives Wiltshire carers who open up their homes to support young people and adults, will be hosting virtual tea parties and sharing their heartwarming stories online this month.

Carer Support Wiltshire is running a series of virtual events and activities for this year's Carers Week. Running from 8-14 June, Carers Week shines a light on the thousands of unpaid carers there are in the UK. Across the UK today an estimated 6.5 million people or 1 in every 8 are carers and this includes many thousands who live in Wiltshire.

A total of £46,617 was raised on 5 March at our eighth Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner, as local businesses and organisations helped to support the next generation of the county's sports stars.

The new fitness suite at Calne Leisure Centre will open this month, as our £3.4m Calne Community Campus project reaches another milestone.

The principal contractor has been appointed to construct Melksham Community Campus, with work set to get underway this year marking another significant milestone for the project.

A member of our leisure team is donning his trainers and taking on a mammoth 100-mile run in aid of Sport Relief.
