Wiltshire Council has dismissed suggestions the county could be one of the next locations in the country to go into lockdown.

Long walks, chats over the phone, visits, newsletters and exchanging craft ideas are just some of the many ways the Wiltshire Council in-house Learning Disability Team has been keeping in contact with adults they care for during COVID-19.

Throughout the COVID-19 situation Wiltshire Council has worked with a network of amazing volunteer and community groups across the county to provide vital support and services to people most in need.

Inspirational Shared Lives Wiltshire carers who open up their homes to support young people and adults, will be hosting virtual tea parties and sharing their heartwarming stories online this month.

Carer Support Wiltshire is running a series of virtual events and activities for this year's Carers Week. Running from 8-14 June, Carers Week shines a light on the thousands of unpaid carers there are in the UK. Across the UK today an estimated 6.5 million people or 1 in every 8 are carers and this includes many thousands who live in Wiltshire.

Wiltshire Council will be changing the opening times of the Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub, from Sunday 7 June.

A drive-through coronavirus testing facility at the Beehive Park & Ride in Salisbury, as part of the Government's UK-wide drive to increase testing, opened at the weekend.
