May is Local and Community History Month and Wiltshire Council is celebrating local history with an array of events and exhibitions at libraries across the county.

The council now will work together with care providers to create a new alliance called Wiltshire Living Well At Home

Library staff have used innovative approaches to continue providing online resources and group sessions during the pandemic, including rhyme times, story times, tea and chat sessions, book reviews, author talks and 'how to' guides

Wiltshire Council Libraries are encouraging families to take part in this year's wild-themed Summer Reading Challenge which aims to inspire children to read as much as they can.

Wiltshire Council will continue the process to seek a care provider for Furlong Close following the news Hft has withdrawn its earlier decision to close the site.

Residents at Furlong Close will continue to access care and support as usual while the future provision at the site is determined.

Art fans and book lovers will be able to once again enjoy the Edwin Young Gallery, reopening on Thursday 20 May, and some longer opening hours at libraries across Wiltshire from Monday 17 May.

Five more libraries will reopen in Wiltshire over the next three weeks. These libraries will be fully reopened for people to browse for up to 30 minutes, to select and loan books and book a computer for up to 45 minutes.
