May is Local and Community History Month and Wiltshire Council is celebrating local history with an array of events and exhibitions at libraries across the county.

Latest figures show more than 280 Wiltshire households have been matched with Ukrainian refugees as people fleeing the war-torn country start arriving in the county.

The Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre has been awarded £10,000 to showcase the history of gardening through archives, activities and events, and promote its positive impact on physical and mental wellbeing.

A brand-new climbing centre has opened in Chippenham, built by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity (CBLC) and run by The Climbing Academy (TCA), with funding from Wiltshire Council and Sports England.

Wiltshire Council's Salisbury Area Board and Salisbury City Council are working in partnership on a new project to tackle loneliness and improve the wellbeing of residents.

Five of Wiltshire Council's area boards are working together with a local charity to support and improve engagement with young people, particularly those who might feel isolated due to living in a rural area.

A number of Wiltshire libraries will start reopening from today (Thursday 7 January) to offer order and collect and bookable computer services.
