Planning appeals

To make a planning appeal against a decision the local planning authority have made, please request a form from the team at:

All planning appeals must be made in writing. 

The Planning Inspectorate website has lots of useful information and guidance on how to make a planning appeal.

Appeals can be submitted against the decisions of the council for the following reasons:

  • Where permission has been refused.
  • Where the council has failed to give a decision on an application within the statutory time-frame.
  • Where permission has been granted but the applicant is unhappy with the conditions that have been imposed.
  • A Planning Enforcement Notice has been served.

Appeal forms and any documents that are attached should be copied to the local planning authority at:
