Committee meeting calendar

There are rules on attendance and speaking at committees in support of or against planning applications.

Anyone wishing to speak in favour or against an application at a meeting needs to register in advance by calling 0300 456 0114 or with the Chair 10 minutes before the start of the meeting.

The Chair will allow up to three speakers in favour and up to three speakers against an application.

Each speaker will be given up to three minutes and invited to speak immediately prior to the item being considered.

There is also a strategic planning committee that deals with major developments which could have an impact on local residents.

Committees make decisions on applications that are referred to them. There are several reasons for referral. The most common is where a councillor has requested it or where the planning officer considers that the committee needs to make the decision.
