Local validation checklist - share your views
We want your views on the proposed local validation checklists found below.
Local validation checklists explained
The checklists show what you need to register, review, and determine on a planning application. They explain what information is needed for different types of planning applications, why it is needed and where to find further guidance.
Purpose of local validation checklists
The main goal of these documents is to improve the quality of planning applications submitted to the council, making sure that:
- the council spends less time and resources validating applications and chasing missing information
- applicants, developers, and investors receive a better service as their applications are processed more quickly
- stakeholders, including parish and town councils, are consulted on higher quality and more complete submissions, making the proposals clearer
Adoption and review timeline
Once all views have been considered, the checklist will be adopted and will be in effect for two years before it requires review.
Please let us know your views by Monday 21 April 2025.
