Privacy notice - Public Health - Migrant health

The Public Health team at Wiltshire Council are conducting research into the health and wellbeing of our migrant population in Wiltshire. As part of this research, we will be hearing the views of those with lived experience. This will involve the collection of data from participant interviews. We will process personal data relating to participants, including name, age, country of origin and living situation to aid with analysing the data. Once analysed, the data will be anonymised and used to write a report that aims to improve the support offered to our migrant population. Anonymised quotes may be used in this published report.

The processing of data is lawful through your consent to the processing of your data for the specific purpose of research. The data will not be processed for any other purpose. We will not process data from anyone who has not provided consent to do so

In the event that we process any special category data, which may include information about your name, country of origin, where you live, your health, the appropriate special condition will be explicit consent.

Your data will only be accessed by Wiltshire Council. We will share your data where necessary and lawful only within Wiltshire Council. Your personal data will not be shared with any third parties.

Wiltshire Council will not hold your data for any longer than necessary, and it will be kept secure for the duration it is held. For the purposes of this research, your data is expected to be held for up to one year. After this, your information will be securely deleted when it is no longer needed.

Your rights are set out in the current Data Protection legislation, including:

• the right to access your personal data
• the right to object to the processing of certain personal data
• the right to withdraw the consent and explicit consent you have given us to process your personal data at any time
• the right to complain to the Information Commissioner if you feel we are processing your personal data unlawfully
