Bus
Public and school bus transport, free concessionary bus passes.
Wiltshire Connect is a new, innovative range of bus services that conveniently connect rural communities in the Pewsey Vale area at a time that suits passengers.
The innovative new services, which will launch in phases over the coming months, include both on-demand and semi-flexible buses, which can pick up and drop off passengers where they want to go, when they want to get there.
On-demand services allow passengers to book the bus from a stop of their choosing in the service area to their destination at a time to suit them, either by booking through a smartphone app or by phone. Semi-flexible services are halfway between a standard timetable bus service and an on-demand bus, in that they follow a timetable, but can take detours and have some flexibility to pick up and drop off people who have booked in advance.
To find out more about the new services, including maps and fares, see Connecting Wiltshire: Wiltshire Connect buses (opens new window).
The council offers free concessionary bus passes to qualifying older or disabled people that live in Wiltshire.
Wiltshire Council provides free home to school transport for some children who are under the age of 16 and who attend their local designated school. We also operate a transport assistance scheme for further education students that are aged 16 - 19 at the start of their course and who are attending and living more than 3 miles from their designated sixth form or college.
