Wiltshire is proud of its talented sports people and recognises that support to help achieve at the top level of their sport is invaluable. We provide a range of grants to help.

Elite athlete grant

12 Elite Athlete grants were given out at the Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner on 14 March 2019. The grants of £1,000 will support the successful grant recipients, who complete at either a national or international level, access training and competitive opportunities, purchase equipment or cover transport costs incurred for events in the UK and abroad. Grant recipients and Aaron and Tom

Sports scholarship grant

12 young Wiltshire athletes aged between 8 and 18 years old were awarded a Sports Scholarship grant of £500 at an event at County Hall on the 24 January 2019 hosted by Baroness Scott of Bybrook.

The funding is available thanks to the success of the Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner.

It can be used to access training ad competitive opportunities, purchase equipment and cover transport costs for attending regionals or national events. The special guests at the event were 2016 Paralympic gold medallist Aaron Moores MBE and elite high jumper Tom Gale who provided and insight in to what it takes to get to the top of their sport and answered questions from the audience.

FACTS leisure centre memberships

Wiltshire Council offers free annual leisure centre membership for use of the fitness suite and pool for any Wiltshire athlete aged 16 years and over who is competing for GB at either a senior or junior level and is on a NGB development squad in either and Olympic or Paralympic sport or a sport recognised by Sport England either as an individual or as a team member.

Younger applicants may be considered on a discretionary basis.
