Wiltshire is proud of its talented sports people and recognises that support to help achieve at the top level of their sport is invaluable. We provide a range of grants to help.

Elite athlete grant

Ten elite Wiltshire athletes were presented with a grant of £1,000 at the Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner on 15 March 2018. Recipients included Jennifer Kehoe who recently won two sliver medals and a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Paralympics. All the recipients will be challenging for top honours both internationally and nationally at the Commonwealth games, World, European and British Championships over the coming year.

2018 sports scholarship recipients

Sports scholarship grant

Twelve promising young Wiltshire sportspeople have received sports scholarship grants of £500 at a ceremony with special guest gold medal-winning Paralympic swimmer, Stephanie Millward MBE, at County Hall on 25 January 2018.

The grants, which are awarded by Wiltshire Council in partnership with local businesses, are awarded to young people aged eight to 18, who compete in either a regional or national level.

FACTS leisure centre memberships

Wiltshire Council offers free annual leisure centre membership for use of the fitness suite and pool for any Wiltshire athlete aged 16 years and over who is competing for GB at either a senior or junior level and is on a NGB development squad in either and Olympic or Paralympic sport or a sport recognised by Sport England either as an individual or as a team member.

Younger applicants may be considered on a discretionary basis.
