Wiltshire is proud of its talented sports people and recognises that support to help achieve at the top level of their sport is invaluable. We provide a range of grants to help.

Elite Athlete Grant - Closed for applications

The 2020 Elite Athlete grants were presented to 11 athletes at the Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner that took place on Thursday 5 March. Presentations were supported by the gala dinner gold sponsors Landmarc, CGI and MiPermit along with the special guest for the night, British Athletics legend Colin Jackson CBE.

A grant of £1,000 is available to any Wiltshire athlete who complete at either a national or international level in either an Olympic/Paralympic sport or any Sport England recognised sport.

Funding can be used to access training and competitive opportunities, purchase equipment or cover transport costs incurred for events in the UK and abroad.

This grant is currently closed for applications.

Sports Scholarship Grant - Closed for applications

Ten Sports Scholarship grants of £500 were given to young people from Wiltshire aged between eight and 18 years old who compete at either a regional or national level. Recipients can use the funding to access training and competitive opportunities, to purchase equipment and to cover transport costs for attending regional, or national events.

With the Wiltshire Business and Sports Gala Dinner gold sponsors CGI, Landmarc and MiPermit on hand to present the grants to this year's worthy recipients, the lively evening started with an inspirational insight in to what it takes to be an elite athlete from special guest and previous grant recipient, 2018 Winter Paralympic gold medallist and 2019 World Champion, para alpine skier Jennifer Kehoe MBE.

FACTS leisure centre memberships

Wiltshire Council offers free annual leisure centre membership for use of the fitness suite and pool for any Wiltshire athlete aged 16 years and over who on a NGB development squad  and is competing for GB at either a senior or junior level in either and Olympic or Paralympic sport or a sport recognised by Sport England either as an individual or as a team member.

Younger applicants may be considered on a discretionary basis.

Applications must be accompanied by a supporting reference from your NGB.
