Wiltshire Council has started its Severe Weather Emergency Provisions (SWEP) as temperatures are due to fall over the next few nights.

The council has a statutory duty to trigger SWEP for anyone who is sleeping rough when the weather is predicted to fall to zero degrees or below for three consecutive nights.

Temperatures are forecast to be at sub zero temperatures over the coming week based on current predictions and as a result the council is offering  overnight accommodation for those affected. All rough sleepers known to Wiltshire Council have already had an offer of accommodation previously and are reminded again that this help remains available.

For Sunday 27 December and Monday 28 December people can contact the emergency team on 0300 456 0100 to report.

From Tuesday 29 December individuals can contact the housing options teams for help at Chippenham - 01249 706666, Trowbridge - 01225 718005 or Salisbury - 01722 434233 until 5pm. After 5pm people can use the out of hours number 0300 456 0100 to report
