New bin will help to combat fly-tipping in Warminster

Several properties on this road have no outside space, and as such no place to store their own waste, so their household waste bags have been collected from this location on George Street.

However, the presence of the waste bags has led to an increase in fly-tipping in this area, so to prevent this, the council has installed the new large bin and anti-fly-tipping signage, and increased enforcement of fly-tipping in the area, including using CCTV evidence where required.

Cllr Bridget Wayman, Cabinet Member for Waste, said: The issue of persistent fly-tipping in this area has been a problem for local residents for some time, so we have installed this large bin, signage and other anti-fly-tipping measures to help put a stop to it.

We hope this will solve the problem, but if not, we will use CCTV evidence to prosecute any fly-tippers, as we have at other hotspots around the county. Fly-tippers can expect a Fixed Penalty Notice of £400 if they are caught dumping waste at this site.
