Wiltshire residents are being reminded not to miss the letter that will drop through their door in the next two weeks to advise them of their new waste collection day.

From Monday 28 February, nearly all general household waste collections days will change in Wiltshire. There will be no change to any recycling or garden waste collections, which will still take place on their usual day for all residents.

The letters will advise each household of their new collection day and when to put their bins out; they do not need to do anything until they receive their letter. People should leave their bin out by 7am on their new collection day as the time their waste will be collected may also change.

Cllr Dr Mark McClelland, Cabinet Member for Waste, said: Each household in Wiltshire will receive a letter during the next two weeks that will tell them when their new waste collection day is. This change only affects the general household waste bins - household recycling and garden waste collection days will not change.

People do not need to do anything until they receive their letter, and they can also check their new collection day using our online calendar.

These round changes will make the rounds more efficient, cutting our carbon emissions and enabling us to make more than £1.5m of savings over the next five years, which ensures we are getting the best value for our residents.
