Could you work with young people? Would you like a role in leisure? How about working in highways and transport? What about providing care for people who have just left hospital and need to gain their independence again?

On 25 January, Wiltshire Council will hold a careers fair in the Atrium at County Hall in Trowbridge - offering insight into a range of different roles across the council. The fair, which is being held from 12.30pm - 5.30pm, will have representatives from 25 areas of the council on hand to showcase the breadth of opportunities available, including HR & OD, Social Care, Data & Insight, Highways & Transport, Finance & Procurement, Electoral Services, Family & Community Learning, Multiply, Public Health, ICT, Libraries, Environment, Building Control, Families & Children's Volunteering and Apprenticeships.

12 external organisations are also attending to showcase opportunities to work with them. They are Longleat, Center Parcs, Go South Coast, The Army, Brandon Trust, Achieve Together, Bath Spa University, Wiltshire College & University Centre, Silverwood School, National Careers Service, Tribe PT and Seetec Pluss.

The free event is open to all and will be a chance for people to find out about apprenticeships, work experience, flexible working opportunities, full and part-time roles and gain CV advice.

Cllr Ashley O'Neill, Cabinet Member for Staffing, said: "Wiltshire Council has an innovative and dedicated workforce which is focused on making a difference and delivering the best outcomes for our communities. We're looking for likeminded people with various skill sets and an enthusiasm for learning which can really help us to continue to provide the right services for people in Wiltshire. The careers fair is an opportunity to talk to people who work in these areas, find out more and see if it's the right fit for you."

People can register for the careers fair for free at Eventbrite: Wiltshire Council Careers Fair (Thursday 25 January 2024) (opens new window).
