Wiltshire Council has issued a £400 fixed penalty notice (FPN) to a Swindon resident who paid an unlicenced person to dispose of their domestic waste. The waste was subsequently fly-tipped in a layby in Winterbourne Monkton, near the Avebury World Heritage Site, and was inspected by Environmental Enforcement Officers.

Wiltshire Council will be seeking to work with a specialist contractor to help deliver energy efficiency measures to up to 175 existing homes in the county.

A programme to plant over 600 trees throughout the Salisbury River Park project has kicked off with the first new trees planted along Coldharbour Lane, near Fisherton Recreation Ground.
