At Salisbury Area Board last night (Thursday 28 September), Wiltshire Council updated on the next steps involved in reopening City Hall, Salisbury as an entertainment venue.

With the launch of two new community groups this Autumn, staff at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre hope to bring residents together to collect and preserve Wiltshire's rich heritage.

Visitors and local residents in Pewsey and Trowbridge can now enjoy exploring their local history and cultural heritage with the towns being the latest to be added to the 'Explore Wiltshire' heritage app.

City Hall in Salisbury will remain an NHS vaccination centre until March 2023, but the council continues to plan for the venue's future as an entertainment and cultural venue.

The park has been declared a Local Nature Reserve and recognised for its local importance to wildlife and education

The flag at County Hall, Trowbridge will be lowered on Wednesday 27 January 2021 as Wiltshire Council marks Holocaust Memorial Day, but due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no formal ceremony this year.

The council is looking to keep rights of way maintained

Part of the Ridgeway National Trail in Wiltshire will be closed to motor vehicles over the spring and summer months to enable repair works to be completed.
