Wiltshire Council has issued a £400 fixed penalty notice (FPN) to a Swindon resident who paid an unlicenced person to dispose of their domestic waste. The waste was subsequently fly-tipped in a layby in Winterbourne Monkton, near the Avebury World Heritage Site, and was inspected by Environmental Enforcement Officers.

Wiltshire Council will be seeking to work with a specialist contractor to help deliver energy efficiency measures to up to 175 existing homes in the county.

Several services and assets in Bradford on Avon have today (Friday 1 April) been passed from Wiltshire Council to Bradford on Avon Town Council to enable the local community to have more say in how their services are run.

The prosecution was brought following a history of poor compliance and a succession of interventions with the business to try to improve standards without success.

To help inform any future works as part of the Salisbury River Park proposals, the Environment Agency is carrying out preliminary ground investigation work at the Maltings and Central Area Car Park.

This is the second time that emergency enforcement action has been taken for the same business operator.
