Children at eight Salisbury schools have worked with professional artists to create beautiful BookBenches that will be located at Salisbury Library during August before returning to the schools for the children to use in the autumn.

The campus will open its doors on 1 August from 10am

Preparation works are set to get under way at the Melksham House site next week (25 July).

Wiltshire Council Libraries are encouraging families to take part in this year's 'Gadgeteers' themed Summer Reading Challenge which aims to inspire children to read as much as they can.

Report say the local authority is in a strong position to meets its carbon neutral commitment by 2030, but the county as a whole needs to do more.

Preliminary works for the Salisbury River Park project are now complete. Work began in January to prepare the site ahead of the main construction work which will start in June.
