The Building Control charges are standard charges. These charges are the same for both a "Full Plans" and a "Building Notice" Application and all charges are payable on deposit of submission.
These charges have been set on the basis that the building work does not consist of, or include, innovative or high risk construction techniques and/or the duration of the building work from commencement to completion does not exceed 12 months.
The charges have also been set on the basis that the design and building work is undertaken by a person or company that is competent to carry out the relevant design and building work. If they are not the work may incur supplementary charges.
If your building work is not listed as a standard charge, it will be individually determined. Please contact us so that we can give you a quotation for your project at buildingcontrol@wiltshire.gov.uk or by calling 0300 4560113.
Where a site visit is required prior to an application being made a fee of £75 (INC VAT) is applicable. Where the project progresses to a formal building control application, this £75 (INC VAT) charge will be deducted from your application fee.
References to the floor area relate to the total internal floor area of all storeys.
Where more than one extension is proposed, the floor areas must be added together to determine the charge.

For all other building work, e.g. removal of load bearing walls, or larger building projects not covered by the other categories, you can use the estimate of the cost of works to determine the building regulations fee.
"Total Estimated cost" means a reasonable estimate that would be charged by a professional builder but excluding professional (Architects/Surveyors) fees and VAT. DIY estimates cannot be accepted.
Please enclose a written estimate of the cost of work, otherwise we will not be able to process your application. We may request a more detailed estimate to justify any plan charge submitted.

Fee £130 (VAT not applicable) - application form to be submitted at least six weeks prior to the commencement of demolition work and include;
• Copy of your Pre-Demolition Asbestos Survey (as required by The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012)
• Demolition method statement.
• Scale block plan indicating the buildings footprint, boundaries, orientation to surrounding roads and properties.
Where electrical work is "notifiable" and is undertaken by an electrician who is not a member of a Part P "competent person's scheme" a charge of £450 (including VAT) will be made to recover the council's costs in checking this element of the project.
