The consultation form does enable people to object to the road. Question 5 seeks your views on what you consider are the important issues relating to the proposed distributor road route options. Question 6 has a free text box to allow you to go into more details. So, you can answer questions 5 stating your objection in the 'other' box and in question 6 set out fully your objection and reasons if you wish. You can also choose whether you wish to complete the road route options part of the form before submitting your response.

We will also consider any comments on the road route options which are emailed or posted to the above addresses.

We had originally planned for the public consultation to take place in Spring 2020, but this was delayed because of COVID-19. Views from local people and wider stakeholders are very important. We hope as many people as possible will take part in this consultation, which runs from Friday 15 January 2021 to 5pm on Friday 12 March 2021.

We would prefer to display the proposals at a public exhibition so that we can answer any questions people may have. Unfortunately, the current COVID-19 restrictions mean we are unable to do this. We have tried to provide as much information as possible on the proposals so people can give an informed opinion.

We held three live online public webinars to explain the proposals in more detail.  You can view the recordings from these webinars on this webpage.

As well as the public, town and parish councils, area boards, local businesses and other stakeholders will be invited to comment on the proposals. We would like to hear from anyone who will or may be affected by the proposals.

We will analyse all comments received and take them into account as we develop the proposals. A consultation feedback report will be produced detailing the feedback received and how this has shaped proposals. This report will be published on the council's website.

For the purposes of this consultation the distributor road route options have been split into five zones. This means people can comment on sections of the road options within that zone. It is possible that based on the feedback from the public consultation, the preferred route may be a combination of each preferred zone option.

No. The preferred road route will be announced in Summer 2021. We will be sharing details of the route and the Future Chippenham Masterplan during a public consultation to be held during Summer 2021.

We anticipate a planning application being submitted Winter 2021/22 which provides a further opportunity to comment on the proposals.
