Consultation on the Future Chippenham road route options closes on Friday

Residents and businesses have until 5pm on Friday 12 March 2021 to give their feedback on the road route options for a potential distributor road in Chippenham.

During the last seven weeks, people have been giving their views on three distributor road options and two link road options to Pewsham Way.

The distributor road route options have been split into five geographical zones so people can comment on sections of the road options within that zone.

Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: "I would like to thank those people who have already taken the time to tell us their views. There is still time to make your comments known during the final week of this public consultation so I would encourage everyone to provide their feedback, whether positive or negative before the deadline.

"The feedback will help inform the overall project and a decision about which of the three route options within each zone could be taken forward to the next stage of the development process. We are aiming to announce the preferred route in summer 2021.

"It is really important that people take the opportunity to comment on these proposals. It's also important to emphasise that the delivery of the road and associated housing infrastructure are predicated on sites being allocated as part of the Local Plan Review process."

People will be able to give their views by completing the online consultation form at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/future-chippenham, emailing the downloadable consultation form to futurechippenham@wiltshire.gov.uk (opens new window) or posting the form to the Future Chippenham team, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14 8JN. Written comments can also be submitted by email or post to the above addresses.

Computers are available in our libraries for people to use to view the proposals and complete the consultation form. Alternatively, people can still contact Wiltshire Council's Customer Services on 0300 456 0100 if they require the consultation material as a paper copy or in a different format.
