With Christmas fast approaching, Wiltshire Council is letting people know the best ways they can recycle their waste this Christmas, including the new kerbside battery collection service.

A Royal Wootton Bassett resident has been issued with a £400 fixed penalty notice (FPN) by Wiltshire Council for dumping their household waste.

Wiltshire Council is urging people to cancel any bookings for household recycling centre (HRCs) visits that they no longer need, at least a day in advance, as more than 500 appointments are being missed during some weeks.

A man from Lyneham has been fined £400 after CCTV captured him leaving bin liners full of waste next to the recycling bins in Sainsbury's car park, Royal Wootton Bassett. The waste was deposited directly underneath a sign warning people not to fly-tip waste next to recycling bins, and advising them of the consequences of fly-tipping.

Part of the Ridgeway National Trail in Wiltshire will be closed to motor vehicles over the spring and summer months to enable repair works to be completed.
