Books and reading

We hold almost 700,000 items.  These include novels, information and reference books, books for children and young people, large print and talking books,  eBooks, and music and drama performance sets.

You can request any book in Wiltshire stock to be sent to your local library for a small charge (details of charges for requesting items, children's are free to request). We can get books from libraries all over the country, and the world - just ask at your library.

Books can also be requested using the Library catalogue (opens new window) or the Solus library app. You can download the Solus library app from the App Store (opens new window) or Google Play store (opens new window) to quickly renew and request items on your phone or tablet. The Location ID is WILTS. 

We purchase books throughout the year, and we also regularly move books between libraries so you should see something different when you visit. We also welcome donations of recently published books that are in a good physical condition.
