North Wiltshire Local Plan 2011

Status

On 27 June 2009, the Secretary of State issued a direction setting out the policies within the North Wiltshire Local Plan 2011 that can be 'saved' beyond 27 June 2009.

The following policies of the North Wiltshire Local Plan were not saved at that time:

• Policy NE2 - The Swindon Rural Buffer
• Policy NE3 - Local Rural Buffers
• Policy NE21- Development in Flood Risk Areas
• Policy NE22 - Surface Water Run-off
• Policy NE23 - Watercourses
• Policy T6 - Freight
• Policy BD8 - Telecommunications
• Policy TM1 - General Policy For Tourism

Subsequently, the Wiltshire Core Strategy, adopted in 2015, then replaced many of the saved policies. The remaining extant policies are listed at Appendix D of the Wiltshire Core Strategy (PDF) [290KB] (opens new window)  and will be replaced as part of the Local Plan Review.

Until replaced, these saved policies will still be used to inform decisions on planning applications within the area of Wiltshire relating to the previous administrative boundary of North Wiltshire District Council.
